Shapefile containing the mapped locations of the geology samples collected during EVA 2 of Apollo 12. In some cases, a sample ID could not be assigned to a single location, either because samples collected over a broad area were combined into a single bag or because of insufficient information about the sample at time of collection. In these cases, sample IDs were recorded in all locations where they may have been collected. Samples 12029, 12050, 12055, 12056, and 12057 were unabled to be located. Locations were mapped relative to the NAC_DTM_APOLLO12 orthophoto NAC_DTM_APOLLO12_M120005333_50CM.tiff, in an Equirectangular Moon projected coordinate system centered on (180, -3). To see mapped data in context of the mission transcript, see 12-2_Detailed_Transcript.csv. When using this data, please cite: Gonzales et al. (2020) LPS LI, Abstract #1578. Attribute field descriptions: Bag: Bag that the sample was collected in. ID: Sample ID number(s), in range format. IDList: Sample ID number(s), in list format. IDListCont: Overflow column for listed sample IDs. G_E_Time: Timestamp associated with sample(s), in ground-elapsed time (time since liftoff, reported in hours:minutes:seconds). Type: Sample type (core, rake, soil, etc). Station: Station at which the samples were collected.
