Apollo 14 EVA 2 Samples Shapefile containing the mapped locations of the geology samples collected during EVA 2 of Apollo 14. In some cases, a sample ID could not be assigned to a single location, either because samples collected over a broad area were combined into a single bag or because of insufficient information about the sample at time of collection. In these cases, sample IDs were recorded in all locations where they may have been collected. Locations were mapped relative to the NAC_DTM_APOLLO14 orthophoto NAC_DTM_APOLLO14_M150633128_50CM.tif, in an Equirectangular Moon projected coordinate system centered on 3°S, 180°E. To see mapped data in context of the mission transcript, see APOLLO_14-2_DETAILED_TRANSCRIPT.csv. When using this data, please cite: Gonzales et al. (2021) PDW and PSIDA V, Abstract #7062. Attribute field descriptions: Bag: Bag in which the astronaut collected the sample(s). ID: Sample ID number(s), in range format. If samples were numbered out of order, sample ID numbers may fall within an ID range of a location where they were not collected. IDList: Sample ID number(s), in list format. IDListCont: Overflow column for listed sample IDs. G_E_Time: Timestamp associated with sample(s), in ground-elapsed time (time since liftoff, reported in hours:minutes:seconds). Type: Sample type (core, rake, soil, etc). Station: Station at which the astronaut collected the sample(s).
